This tour of Japan is one you won't soon forget. In Tokyo you will become acquainted with Japanese culture, and see the highlights of the capital. Later on in the journey you will also experience the ancient Zen temples in Kamakura. We fly to Matsumoto, where on a clear day you can see the sacred volcano Fuji. In Takayama, and the ancient capital Kyoto, you will see wooden houses and old temples. The Todai-ji temple in Nara has the largest Buddha statue in all of Japan. The Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and the Atomic Bomb Dome will provide you with detailed history of the Second World War. On the southern island of Kyushu you will visit the Aso Volcano, experience the "bullet train", and traditional Japanese family hotels known as “minshukus”.

On the Road with Djoser

Djoser's active journeys offer an ideal balance of guidance and freedom. Our guide-assisted adventures cover the globe and feature wildlife, beautiful natural settings, historic sights and authentic cultural experiences.  Join our international groups,  of all ages, on an inspirational journey.

In our Day-to-Day descriptions section you can read about our anticipated, or possible, daily activities.During Djoser travels, the daily schedule is not rigidly set.  We feel that spontaneity and independence are important to a great trip.  Our travel days are obviously fixed, but each day the program may deviate depending on the preferences of the group, in consultation with the tour leader. The tour guide offers a program daily, with planned excursions. You are certainly not required to participate. Those who desire more freedom may go out exploring or may dine on their own. Your tour leader can offer suggestions for safe explorations and fun restaurants.  You will find that Djoser participants will take advantage of these opportunities. This is a great way to experience a destination.
